The Canterbury Tales ~ By Half Cut Theatre

Southwold Arts Centre is delighted to welcome Half Cut Theatre to Southwold on Thursday 4 th April at 4:00pm with a brand new adaptation of some of the most romantic, ridiculous and raucous stories you’ve ever pretended to have read.

The company has taken their loving but disarmingly sharp hatchet to one of the seminal works of English literature, Geoffrey Chaucer’s six-hundred-year-old snapshot of Medieval society in all its filth and glory, The Canterbury Tales.

All good stories start down the pub, and this one is no different. A mismatched group of travellers ready themselves for a gruelling journey. Some have an axe to grind but all have a tale to tell. What secret is the Wife of Bath about to spill? Are we ready for Tim Pardoner’s latest get rich quick scheme? And will anybody actually make it to Canterbury?

Packed full of uncontrollable laughs and uncontrollable loves, stunning original music and stunning original mayhem, Half Cut bring their trademark joy to this anarchic journey which will delight young and old alike.
